Silvane is an independent tool built by Magic players to organize, value and share their collections. It is a fan project — we have no connection to Wizards of the Coast or Hasbro, we don't speak for them, and nothing here should be read as official.

Everything that makes Magic: The Gathering what it is — card names and artwork, mana and set symbols, and the surrounding logos and marks — belongs to Wizards of the Coast LLC (© 1993–2026 Wizards of the Coast, all rights reserved). Silvane only displays that material to help you manage your own cards, as allowed under Wizards' Fan Content Policy; ownership of it stays entirely with Wizards.

Card details and pricing are pulled from Scryfall and other community sources, and can lag behind reality. Treat any price as a rough guide rather than a quote, and confirm with a store before you buy, sell or trade.

The Generational Historian — Unknown Event #MG05

The Generational Historian

Legendary Creature — Human Druid

Unknown Event· UNK
#MG05Mythic

Before the game begins, if The Generational Historian is your commander, choose a year. Your deck can contain only cards released in that year. (Legal text, for once, is a great place to check. Specific versions matter.)

Spells released in the chosen year cost less to cast. If the chosen year is in the 1990s, they also cost less to cast, reducing only the amount of colored mana you pay.

Prize Card for the Unknown events at GenCon, July 30-August 2, 2026
