Silvane on a tablet
How the app rearranges itself on a tablet or a Mac, and the window sizes that decide it.
On a phone the app is a stack of full-screen pages: you tap into a binder, look at a card, tap back out. On a tablet it lays itself out differently. Navigation moves to a column at the left edge, your collection stays on screen, and cards open in a panel beside it.
Nothing about the phone layout changes.
What changes
- A navigation column instead of a bottom bar. The five sections move to the left edge, always visible.
- A second column for the section you are in. Collection lists its tools, Profile lists its sections, and an open deck gets its own navigator. See Navigation and panels.
- Cards open beside your collection, in a panel that can be docked.
- More cards per row, from the same card-size preference.
- Bigger headings. Section headers, screen titles and headline figures scale up. Body text keeps its size.
When the layout changes
Silvane reads the size of its window, not the model of the device, and re-reads it as the window changes.

The height rule is what keeps a phone in landscape on the phone layout: the tallest phone is 440 pt on its side, so no phone reaches 600.
Because the rule is the window, everything follows live: rotate the tablet, drag a Split View divider, resize a Stage Manager or Mac window, and the layout re-flows as you move, including the number of cards per row. A narrow window is treated as a phone, bottom tab bar and bottom sheets included.
Cards per row
Silvane stores one card-size preference and resolves it against the window, so the setting that gives you 2 cards per row on a phone gives you 4 on a tablet in portrait and 6 in landscape.
Change it in Profile → Settings → Grid → Card size, or pinch the grid to resize live and snap to the nearest size when you let go. Pinch works on a tablet, in three grids: a binder or list, Owned Cards, and a view.
On a Mac
Silvane's iPad app runs on Macs with Apple silicon — same app, same account, same sync, in an ordinary Mac window. Drag the window wider and the context panel appears and the grid gains columns; drag it narrow and the phone layout comes back.

On Android tablets
The tablet layout applies on Android tablets in portrait and in split screen. The app is portrait-only on Android, so there is no full-screen landscape.

Playtest and Simulate hide the navigation column and the context panel and use the entire window.
