Account & sync
How Silvane keeps your collection local-first, offline-ready and synced across devices.
Local-first, always available
Silvane stores your collection on your device. Adding cards, editing decks and browsing your binders never wait on the network — the app works fully offline, on a plane or at a basement prerelease.
Sync across devices
When you're online, changes sync automatically to the cloud and to any other device signed in to your account. Sign in on a new phone or tablet and your entire collection appears — binders, decks, tags, alerts, preferences.
The very first sync on a new device shows a brief loading screen while your collection lands — usually seconds; a minute or so for very large collections on a slow network. It's one-time: after that, the app opens instantly and syncs in the background.
There is nothing to configure and no sync button to press. If two devices edit while offline, changes merge when they reconnect.
One account, every surface
The same account powers:
- The app on iOS and Android.
- Your public web presence at silvane.app — share links and your profile. See Sharing.
- The MCP server — connect Claude or ChatGPT to your collection. See MCP.
Keeping your data safe
Sync is not a backup — deleting a card deletes it everywhere (into the recycle bin first). For real safety nets, see Backups: portable .silvane files for everyone, and cloud snapshots on Pro.
