Profile & settings

The Profile tab is home base for your account and how the app behaves.

Your profile identity

Tap Edit at the top right of the Profile tab (on a tablet, the pencil beside your name) to open Edit profile — one screen for everything public about you:

• Username — your handle at silvane.app/user/<username>. Every account starts with an auto-generated, Magic-flavored one (something like oracle2213), and you can change it here whenever and as often as you like: 3–20 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and _; the field checks availability live and Save stays disabled until your pick is free. One consequence to know: the old URL stops working after a rename, so treat renames like moving house.
• Display name — optional; the friendly name shown next to your handle (leave it blank and the handle stands alone).
• Avatar — pick one of the built-in avatars or upload your own photo.
• Bio — a line about what you play, collect or brew.
• Color identity — the mana colors shown on your profile.

Everything saves from the same Save button and updates your public profile immediately.

Account & data

The Profile tab's rows, in the order they appear in the app:

• Silvane Pro — your plan and subscription history.
• Account — change your email, and Change password or Set a password if you signed up with Apple or Google and never had one. Connected accounts links and unlinks Apple and Google sign-in; the last remaining method cannot be unlinked, so you are never locked out. Delete account and Sign out are here too.
• Notifications — the push/email matrix.
• Connect to Claude & ChatGPT — the setup screen for MCP: what your AI can do with your collection, and the endpoint to paste, ready to copy.
• Settings — the Prices group sits first, with your price source and the collection market header, then the Preferences group: Language (System or one of seven languages), Tray bubble, Theme (light, dark or your device's setting, and the app's color), App icon on iPhone and iPad, Sorting & layout and Search, Grid (card size, which resolves to more cards per row on a tablet), Card detail layout, Tags, and the public-profile toggles.
• Storage & Sync — the card data and the scanner on this phone, Check for updates, Download updates, sync, cached images and Copy details.
• Data & Backups — backups, Import History and Recently deleted (the Recently deleted).
• Import from another app — a whole ManaBox, Moxfield or Dragon Shield collection, each binder, list and deck in a place of its own; guests too. Another app emails support@silvane.app. See Coming from another app.
• About — version, feedback and support.
• Version history — what changed in each release.

Sorting & layout

Settings → Sorting & layout arranges two things:

• Collection — the order of your Folders, Binders and Lists, each on its own: Name, A to Z, Name, Z to A, Newest first, Oldest first or My own order. With My own order, press and hold a folder, a binder or a list, tap Reorder and drag. Reordering from a menu switches that one to My own order for you. The order follows your account to every device.
• Decks and views — how their folders are shown: Side by side or One per row, chosen for deck folders and for view folders separately. It applies on the device you set it on, at the top level and inside folders.

Decks and views themselves are sorted with the sort button at the top of their screen, and their folders with Reorder.

Storage & Sync

Profile → Storage & Sync shows what this phone holds and whether it is current. Tap Cards, Scanner or Collection to open its details.

• Cards — the card data on the phone: its state (Up to date, Downloading, Update available, Update failed), Data from its day with the card count, and Prices: your price source as of the day its prices are from. The details add Version, Size on disk, Sets, Installed and Checksum. Prices arrive with the card data; there is no separate price refresh.
• Scanner — the scanner's data: its version and card count, with Version, Size on disk and Installed in the details.
• Check for updates looks for new card and scanner data and downloads what it finds.
• Download updates — Any network, the default, or Wi-Fi only. With Wi-Fi only, new card data and a full scanner download wait for Wi-Fi (Waits for Wi-Fi) on mobile data or a metered connection, then download on their own. There, a tap on Check for updates asks first, naming the size: Wait for Wi-Fi or Download. A phone with no card data yet downloads it on any network. The setting stays on the phone you set it on.
• Collection, under Sync — Synced and when, Offline, or Uploading with the number of changes. The details add Connection, Last synced and Changes waiting. Changes the server refused are listed under Not saved, with Clear this list. With changes waiting, Discard unsent changes drops them, and the phone goes back to what your account has.
• Cached Images — tap to clear them; images download again as you view them. Total adds up Cards, Scanner and Cached Images.
• Copy details copies the versions, sizes and sync state as one text.

While card data downloads or installs, a ring with the percent sits in the Collection header, in your theme's color while downloading and green while installing; a failed update shows a warning icon. Tap it for the progress, Retry after a failure, and a link to Storage & Sync.

Where each setting lives

In the app — all of the above. Theme and App icon stay on the device you set them on; Language follows your account to your other devices.

On the web — silvane.app/settings carries your username and display name, the Show For Trade and Show Wants switches for your public profile, and a link to change your password. Your price source is the Prices control in the site header, not a setting page. The site's light, dark or system switch is in its footer; signed in, it follows your account from browser to browser, and it does not change the app. Everything else — your email, your plan, backups and account deletion — is app-only.
