FAQ
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Getting started
Is Silvane free? Yes. The free plan is a complete collection manager, with the limits listed on the Pro page. Silvane Pro ($3.49/mo or $29.99/yr) removes the limits and unlocks advanced tools. No ads either way.
Is there a web app? Yes, on the same account. silvane.app carries your binders, lists, decks, views, watchlist and price alerts, adding and editing cards, tagging, bulk actions, the Tray, import/export, set pages and card search — plus two things the app does not have, the Deck Studio and the web playtester. It also hosts your public profile and share pages, the precon and Secret Lair catalogs, and this manual.
What needs the app: scanning, the Ledger, Loans, Rules, Top movers, backups, Recently deleted, creating a view, creating a folder, subscribing to Pro and deleting your account. The full split is in Getting started.
There is no desktop build. On a Mac with Apple silicon the iPad app runs in an ordinary window — see Silvane on a tablet.
How do I move my collection from another app? Import CSV or text exports (Moxfield, Archidekt, Arena, TCGplayer, MTGO, Helvault, plain text), or paste a deck URL — Moxfield binder and collection URLs import too, straight into a binder. Big imports run in the background.
My cards are in Spanish / Japanese / German — does Silvane handle that? Fully. Foreign copies show their printed name everywhere ("Cultivar (Cultivate)"), card detail shows rules text in the card's language, and you can search by any name. See Card languages.
Sync & data
How does sync work? Local-first: the app works fully offline and syncs automatically when online. Sign in on any device and your collection is there. See Account & sync.
I deleted something by accident. Check Profile → Data & Backups → Recently deleted — deletions are recoverable for 30 days. You'll need to be signed in and online to see and restore them. See Recently deleted.
Can I get my data out?
Always. Export any collection or deck in standard formats, or export your entire account as a portable .silvane file.
Prices
Where do prices come from? Why do they differ from my store? Silvane tracks five sources — TCGplayer, Star City Games, Card Kingdom, Mana Pool and Cardmarket — and shows the one you pick (see Price sources). They're daily estimates for tracking, not quotes. Always confirm with a store before buying or selling.
When do prices update? Daily. Your portfolio chart is built from nightly snapshots, per source.
I switched my price source and my collection total changed. Which one is right? Both. Each source measures something different — a market's sold-for average, a store's retail ask, a European trend price — so they honestly disagree. Retail asks in particular run well above market prices. Your cards didn't change; the question did. See Price sources.
What does "N unpriced" mean on my binder's web page? That many cards have no price in the active source, so the total excludes them. Silvane never borrows a price from another source to fill the gap — switch sources and those cards usually have a price elsewhere. See Unpriced cards.
Subscriptions
How do I cancel Silvane Pro? In your App Store or Google Play subscription settings (not inside the app). Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. See Silvane Pro.
How do refunds work? Billing runs through Apple/Google, so refunds follow their policies — request them from the store.
What happens to my cards if Pro ends? Nothing is deleted. Free limits apply again; everything you have stays visible and editable.
I have Pro but a new device doesn't show it. Pro follows your Silvane account, not the device, so signing in with the same account is the first thing to check. If it still does not appear, open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases, which re-links the store subscription. That fallback needs the device signed in to the App Store or Google Play account that bought it.
Why does one card show up twice in my binder? Because a binder lists one tile per finish. A printing you hold as a normal and a foil is two tiles, each with its own count and price. See One tile per finish.
Why doesn't my deck's value match what a friend sees? Because proxies are priced apart for you and counted for a visitor. See Deck value.
The Deck Studio button isn't there. The Studio needs a browser window at least 1024 px wide. See Silvane on the web.
Contact
How do I report a bug or suggest something? In the app: Profile → About → Send Feedback. It lands directly with the team.
