By file or pasted text

Import into a collection or a deck from:

• Silvane files (our own export / portable backup).
• CSV — including exports from other collection apps (Helvault and generic CSV shapes).
• Pasted text — decklists in Arena, Archidekt, TCGplayer, Moxfield, MTGO, or plain 4 Lightning Bolt format. The parser detects the format automatically.

You choose the destination (existing or new binder/list/deck) and the import commits immediately — there's no preview step, the progress phases run and the cards land (check Import history afterwards for the receipt). Not sure what your list should look like? See the format examples below.

Add vs Replace

Importing into an existing destination offers two modes:

• Add to current — the import stacks on top of what's there (quantities merge per printing/finish/condition/language).
• Replace all — wipes the destination first, then imports. The red button means it: everything previously in that binder, list or deck is deleted before a single row lands.

Two more behaviors worth knowing:

• Free-plan quota is checked up front for the whole batch — an import that would blow past the print limit fails entirely before writing anything (no partial imports).
• Importing a decklist with a commander replaces the deck's current commander even in Add mode (the old commander drops to the mainboard).

Format examples

Silvane detects the format automatically — pick Plain Text or CSV in the import sheet, paste your list, and the right parser takes over. The same formats work for binders, lists and decks; board sections (Commander, Sideboard, …) apply to deck imports and are ignored when the destination is a binder or list.

Plain text

Every line starts with a quantity. A name alone is enough; add (SET) collector-number to pin an exact printing, and end the line with *F* for foil or *E* for etched:

Arena — section lines without a colon (Deck, Sideboard, Commander); the About block names the deck. Arena exports carry no set or foil info:

MTGO — bare names with a SIDEBOARD: separator. Cards after a blank line following the sideboard are read as the commander:

CSV

The first row must be a header. Columns are matched case-insensitively and only Name is required — everything else has a sensible default. Unknown columns are ignored, and fields containing commas must be wrapped in quotes.

For a binder or list:

Silvane CSV

Our own export format — pick Export on any binder, list or deck and re-import the file as-is. It round-trips exact printings, finishes and (for decks) boards and commander roles. The header starts with card_name,printing_id,code,set,scryfall_id,… — don't hand-edit it; if you want to build a file by hand, use the standard CSV format above instead.

Helvault CSV

Export your Helvault collection to CSV and import the file directly — no editing needed. Rows are keyed on scryfall_id, so exact printings, languages and finishes stay distinct.

By URL

Paste a deck link from Moxfield, Archidekt, Tappedout, MTGTop8 or TCGplayer and Silvane fetches the list and imports it as a deck — printings resolved, ready to clone or track.

Moxfield binder links (moxfield.com/binders/…) work too, with one rule: a binder imports into a binder. Open the destination binder and use Import → From URL; every card comes across with its quantity, finish, condition and language, and large binders are fetched page by page. Pasting a binder link into a deck import shows a friendly error pointing you to the right place.

Background imports & history

Where imports start: a binder/list's management sheet → Import cards; for decks, the Decks tab's ＋ → Import Deck (a new deck from a list or URL) or an existing deck's Actions → Import. One import runs at a time.

Large imports run in the background with a progress pill — keep using the app while thousands of cards land. Every import is recorded in Profile → Import history, where you can review what came in, from where, and when.
