Coming from another app

In the app, Import from another app brings a whole collection in one go: its binders, lists and decks each land in a place of their own. Guests can use it too. The web has no such screen; there, a file goes into one binder or deck at a time — see Importing.

Where

• Profile → Import from another app.
• The welcome's Coming from another app, where the same importers are a step of the welcome (The welcome).
• Each in its own place, when a whole ManaBox collection is picked in one binder's Import (ManaBox).

The screen lists ManaBox, Moxfield and Another app. Files from other apps, CSVs and text lists still go into one binder or deck at a time, from its Import menu (Importing).

ManaBox

The screen walks through it:

1. In ManaBox, open the Collection tab.
2. From the menu at the top right, export a CSV of the whole collection.
3. For a deck with a commander, sideboard or Considering, export the deck as text too.
4. Choose the files here, all at once.

Choose files takes several files at once. The collection CSV brings every binder, list and deck in it, each in its own place. The CSV carries no boards, commander or format, so a deck from it goes in whole: its row says All cards go into the deck: this file has no commander, sideboard or Considering. and offers Add the deck's text export. A deck's text export, picked with the CSV or from that row, takes the deck's place with its commander and boards — a download's copy suffix (Deck 2, Deck (2)) doesn't stop the match. A single text export, or the CSV of one binder or list, asks Import as: Binder, List or Deck.

Moxfield

Type a Moxfield username and tap Find: every public deck and the public collection come in. Links work too, one per line, alone or with a username — decks and collections from any site Silvane reads. From Moxfield lists what was found, with Edit to change what you typed; a link that couldn't be read is listed with the reason. Private decks and a private collection can't be read.

Before importing

What was found is listed under Binders, Lists and Decks, each with All / None and a check per place. A binder or list shows its cards and unique cards; a deck shows its format and its Commander (the format follows A new deck from an import). Count in collection, off at first, applies to every deck the import makes (Tracked decks). The button reads Import N cards. Each place becomes a new binder, list or deck with the name it has in the other app.

On the Free plan

FREE PLAN shows what the import adds against the plan's room: Unique cards, Binders, Lists and Decks — decks don't count toward unique cards. When the selection doesn't fit, it offers:

• The most valuable that fit — binders and lists by what their cards are worth, then the most valuable new cards.
• The first that fit — in the order the file lists them.
• All of it, with Silvane Pro — opens the paywall.

Decks go in list order. A copy in another language is a print of its own: what still doesn't fit once every copy is matched is left out, and counted.

Importing

The screen stays put while the import runs. Each place shows its progress, or why it failed (for example Your plan holds 5 decks.); a place that fails with nothing in it is removed. The summary says how many cards went in and where, how many weren't found in the catalog, and what was left out. Then Open Collection or Done — with cards left out, Upgrade to Silvane Pro, and after upgrading Import the rest brings them into the same places.
