Getting started

Install the app or sign in on the web, then create your first binder and add cards.

Get in

In the app — Silvane runs on Android and iOS. Get it on Google Play or the App Store.

On the web — go to silvane.app and sign in. Nothing to install, and it is the same account and the same collection.

Start wherever suits you. Everything you own is readable and editable from either surface, and the two sync within seconds.

What is on which surface

The app is the fuller surface. These features have no web screen:

Scan — the camera scanner.
The Ledger — sales, purchases and activity.
Loans.
Rules — the rules browser and the Rules Judge.
Top movers.
The Booster Guide and its daily packs.
Backups, import history and Recently deleted.
Notifications and the tag manager.
Simulate — the multi-thousand-hand opening-hand run.
Creating a view, reordering, and selecting several folders, binders, lists, decks or views at once. Folders can be made, renamed, recolored, moved and deleted on the web, and a binder, list, deck or view moves into one there.
The Theme colors and the App icon.
Import from another app — a whole ManaBox, Moxfield or Dragon Shield collection at once.

Three things are web-only:

Deck Studio — the wide deck-building workspace.
This manual and the blog.
The MCP setup page, where you connect Claude or ChatGPT.

The welcome

The first time the app opens on a device, the welcome starts with Language and prices, three rows with their values on the right:

Language — English on a new install. Tap it for System and the languages; the welcome switches to the one you pick right away.
Prices from — TCGplayer. Tap it to Choose where prices come from among the five price sources.
Currency — Source currency, the price source's own. Tap it to Choose a currency.

A device that already has a language, a price source or a currency set shows that one instead. All three can be changed later in Profile → Settings. Continue goes on to the questions.

Then it asks what you want to do first, one question per screen:

Track my collection → Where are your cards today? — In boxes and binders, In another app (then Which app are your cards in?: ManaBox, Moxfield or Another app or a spreadsheet), or I'm just starting. You then Name your first binder (it comes as My Collection) and get a plan for its first cards: scanning, searching, importing or Add a precon. In another app puts one file or link into that binder; to bring every binder, list and deck, answer Coming from another app instead.
Build my decks → Where are your decks? — On a deck site ends on importing from a link, I play precons opens the precon picker, where each precon you pick becomes a deck, and I'll build them here ends on Create Deck.
Coming from another app → Which app are you coming from? — ManaBox, Moxfield or Dragon Shield opens that app's importer right there; Another app or a spreadsheet names a first binder and ends on importing into it.
Just look around — straight to the app.

A plan's button starts that first step, and Go to my collection under it closes the welcome. Skip, at the top right, closes it from any screen, Language and prices included; what you picked there stays. The back arrow goes back a screen, and so do a swipe from the left edge on iPhone and Android's back button. From the first question, back returns to Language and prices.

The welcome shows once per device and can't be opened again; a device that went through the earlier welcome tour doesn't show it. Already have an account? Skip, then Profile → Sign in or create account → Log in: a binder you named in the welcome moves into the account.

Create an account

Sign in with Google, Apple or an email and password. In the app it is the Profile tab → Sign in or create account; on the web it is the Sign in button in the header, which also registers.

In the app you can start without an account. Silvane signs you in as a guest, and a guest can add cards, scan and build decks. Signing in later keeps everything, whichever way you sign in — see Guests.

On the web there is no guest. silvane.app needs a real account before it shows you anything of your own.

Create your first binder

Cards need somewhere to live, so start with a binder — the digital twin of a real album or box. The welcome names your first one. Otherwise, an empty Binders tab shows Start your collection and its ways in: Search and add, Scan cards, Import, Add a precon and Create Binder. With no binder yet, the way you tap asks you to Name your first binder (it comes as My Collection) and Create binder; then Add your first card shows that way's steps and the button that opens it on the new binder. Later closes the sheet. After Create Binder, a switch picks the way: Search, Scan, Import or Precon.

Any time after that, tap ＋ in the Collection tab and name the binder; a color helps telling binders apart. On the web, use + in the header.

Binders hold cards you own. Their sibling, lists, hold cards you want: an empty Lists tab shows Start a wishlist (Search and add, Import, Create List), and a first list comes as Wishlist. See Building your collection.

Add your first cards

There are five ways to get cards into Silvane:

Search and add — find any card in Search, pick the exact printing, and add it to your binder.
Scan — point the app's camera at real cards and let the scanner identify the exact printing, including set and collector number.
Import — a list or a deck from a CSV file, a text export or a URL, into one binder or deck. See Importing.
Add a precon — every card of one or more preconstructed decks, into a binder, from an empty Binders tab or the welcome. See Precons & Secret Lair.
Import from another app — in the app, Profile → Import from another app brings a whole ManaBox, Moxfield or Dragon Shield collection, each binder, list and deck in a place of its own. See Coming from another app.
