Prices & Market

Display currency

Read market prices in one of 50 currencies. What converts, what stays as written, and where to pick it.

Market prices come from stores that price in USD or EUR. Pick a display currency and Silvane shows those prices in it, converted at the latest exchange rate. Your price source still decides which store's number you read; the currency only decides how it is written.

With no currency picked, every amount stays in its source's currency: dollars for TCGplayer, Star City Games, Card Kingdom and Mana Pool, euros for Cardmarket.

Picking a currency

In the app: Profile → Settings → Currency, in the Prices group under Price source. The first row is Source currency, which converts nothing. US dollar and euro come next, then the other currencies; the search field finds one by name or code. A new install also asks on its first screen, Language and prices, in its Currency row.

On the web: the Prices control in the site header shows the currency the page is in. It opens a dialog with two tabs, Source and Currency; Apply saves both and reloads the page once. On a phone, signed in, the same dialog opens from Prices and currency in the avatar menu.

Signed in, the currency is saved to your account, and the app and the web follow each other within seconds. Signed out, the web keeps it in a cookie for a year; once you sign in, your account's currency is used instead.

Changing the currency writes nothing but that setting: no card, deck, View, alert or order changes.

The 50 currencies

US dollar, Canadian dollar, Mexican peso, Guatemalan quetzal, Honduran lempira, Nicaraguan córdoba, Costa Rican colón, Dominican peso, Colombian peso, Peruvian sol, Bolivian boliviano, Chilean peso, Argentine peso, Uruguayan peso, Paraguayan guaraní, Brazilian real, euro, British pound, Swiss franc, Norwegian krone, Swedish krona, Danish krone, Icelandic króna, Polish złoty, Czech koruna, Hungarian forint, Romanian leu, Turkish lira, Ukrainian hryvnia, Russian ruble, Japanese yen, South Korean won, Chinese yuan, New Taiwan dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar, Malaysian ringgit, Thai baht, Philippine peso, Indonesian rupiah, Vietnamese dong, Indian rupee, Kazakhstani tenge, Australian dollar, New Zealand dollar, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, Qatari riyal, Israeli shekel and South African rand.

Amounts print with the currency's own sign or code: GTQ 11.91, MX$1,000.00, R$1,000.00, €1,000.00. Twelve currencies print in whole units: ARS, CLP, COP, CRC, HUF, IDR, ISK, JPY, KRW, KZT, PYG and VND, as in ¥1,000, ₩500 and ₫25,769,000.

Exchange rates

Rates come from Frankfurter and Silvane reads new ones every day. A rate that is missing, or that jumps past its daily limit, is not published: the previous rate stays.

Every conversion uses the latest rate. A price chart draws its past days at that same rate, so the line moves with the store's price, never with the exchange rate. Percent changes and the movers are worked out on the store's own prices before anything converts.

On a card in the app, a line under the price shows the store's amount and the date of the rate: $449.99 · rate of Nov 2, 2026.

The app keeps the currency and the last rates on the phone, so it paints in your currency offline too. Until the first rates arrive on a new install, amounts show in the source's currency. Signing out clears the currency from the device.

What converts

Every market price: card prices and charts, the five-source comparison, collection value, deck value, binders, lists, Views, the watchlist, search results, set and Secret Lair pages, the Booster Guide's pack values, and the Tray's running value.

The five-source comparison converts every row. In the app it shows no percent difference between Cardmarket and a dollar store.

Pages other people share with you, such as a binder, a deck, a View or a public profile, read in your currency.

What stays as written

  • Sales and purchases. Every order has a currency of its own, and its amounts never convert.
  • Price alerts. An alert's current price, the price it was created at and its target stay in its market's currency, with the amount in your currency under it, marked ≈.
  • Fixed thresholds. The Booster Guide's Card over $20 and the ready-made Worth $20+ View stay in the source's currency: on Cardmarket they read €20.

Typing an amount

Price fields in filters (Search, binders, Views, the Market minimum) and an alert's target price take an amount in your currency. When you save, Silvane converts it once into the currency the filter or alert compares in, and stores that number. Changing your currency later leaves it as stored; a View's summary shows the bound back in your currency, marked ≈.

An alert on a TCGplayer card typed as GTQ 200, at 7.6371 quetzales to the dollar, gets a target of $26.19.

Price alert emails and push notifications quote the market's amount with yours beside it: Dropped to $12.10 (≈ R$65.61). The watchlist digests show values and changes in your currency, with percentages from the store's prices.

AI Search reads an amount in your currency: with GTQ picked, "red creatures under Q500" searches for cards under GTQ 500.

MCP answers in the market's currency, not in your display currency.

Pages that never convert

On the web, these keep the amounts they were written with, whatever your currency:

  • A shared sale receipt, in its order's currency. A card opened from it reads in your currency.
  • The Silvane Pro page, the home page and the terms.
  • Blog articles, their text and their price widgets. A card opened from an article reads in your currency.
