AI Search

Turn AI Search on and the search bar itself becomes the prompt: "cheap red burn, 2 mana or less", "green creatures that ramp", "commanders for a Dimir deck". Press enter and your sentence is translated into the same structured filters the catalog understands, and the search runs — in one move.

Write in any language. The filters it builds are always the real ones, so criaturas voladoras baratas works exactly as well as its English twin.

What happens when you press enter

• The bar's border comes alive and stays lit until the results are on screen — the translation and the card query are one wait, not two.
• A short line under the bar says what it filtered for, after the search rather than before it.
• Results are grouped as Cards — one row per card, not one per printing.
• In the app — results come back sorted by EDHREC popularity, whatever you had chosen before, so the cards a player is most likely to mean come first. On the web — the sort you have selected stays as it is. It is Relevance — the same EDHREC popularity — unless you changed it.

Nothing is hidden from you, but where the translation lands differs:

In the app — it lands in the normal filter builder. Open Filters and you will see exactly the colors, types, mana value and oracle-text constraints it chose; change any of them and search again. On the web — it lands in the address bar, so an AI result is a link you can share or bookmark like any other search. The web's filter panel covers a smaller set of ground and is not where the translation goes — to steer the search there, adjust your sentence and press enter again.

Either way, AI Search is a faster way to fill in a search, never a separate kind of search.

Turning it off returns you to normal search and keeps what you typed, so it is a lens over one search bar rather than two separate places to type.

Where to start it

In the app

• The sparkle in the search bar, at any time.
• The AI Search card on the search landing. Its example pills are finished searches — tapping one runs it, it does not just fill the box.

On the web — the AI button, first in the row of controls above the results, and on the landing before you have searched anything. It is the only way in: no card on the landing, no example pills. It is not offered in a phone browser.

Good to know

• It never asks you a question. Vague input still returns its best concrete guess and says what it assumed.
• It needs an account. In the app — a guest account is enough, and its searches count against that guest's allowance. On the web — you have to be signed in; pressing enter without an account asks you to sign in first.
• Re-running a past AI search is free. In the app — recent searches keep your sentence as the label with the translation underneath, so tapping one restores the same results without spending another AI search. On the web — the recent entry shows the translated query rather than your sentence; re-running it costs no AI search either.
• Owned turns off. AI Search builds filters, and Owned searches only the exact printings you own and ignores filters entirely. They are two different sources, so turning one on turns the other off.
