Searching
Name suggestions, any-language search, Owned-only results, and what works offline.

Name suggestions
As you type a card name, a short list of names appears under the field. Picking one runs a search for that card; it does not jump to a card page.
- Most played first, not alphabetical. sol offers Sol Ring before Solemnity. Black Lotus, the Moxen and the basic lands are up there too.
- Any word of the name counts. nimble finds Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer; bolt light finds Lightning Bolt; insectile finds the back face of Delver of Secrets. Accents are optional: eowyn finds Éowyn.
- Alternate names find their card. godz offers Godzilla, King of the Monsters with the real card beside it, Zilortha, Strength Incarnate, and picking it searches for that card.
- Instant, and offline in the app. The whole list of names lives in memory, so nothing is sent anywhere while you type. The app carries it inside its catalog; the web downloads it once when you first use a search field.
- On the web the keyboard works. ↓ and ↑ move through the list, Enter searches the highlighted name, Esc closes it. In the Studio, ⌘↩ or Ctrl+Enter adds the highlighted name to the deck.
Suggestions are English names for now. Searching by a name printed in
another language still works: press Enter and the full search finds it. No
suggestions appear once the text looks like
syntax — t:, c:, quotes — since that is a query,
not a name.
Searching in any language
Type a card name in any language — Cultivar, Blitzschlag, Anel Solar, 太陽の指輪 — and Silvane finds the card. There is no filter to set, and it works on both platforms.
Each one widens differently, because their first pass differs, and each says so above the results:

Widening needs a connection. Offline, a foreign name the app's catalog does not carry returns nothing.

Owned-only search
Owned runs the search against the printings you own instead of the whole catalog, by name only. It is on both platforms and needs you signed in.
- Results are one row per finish, like a binder's, each with its own tag, count and price. A card you hold as a normal and a foil is two rows.
- Filters and syntax do not apply. Turning Owned on sets your active filters aside and restores them when you turn it back off. On the web the filter button is disabled and says "Filters don't apply to your owned cards".
- AI Search also steps aside, because it works by building filters.
To slice your collection by anything other than a name, use Views. To search inside one binder, use the search field in the binder.
Result controls
Above the results: sort — Release date, EDHREC rank, Name, Mana value, Price, Color identity, Rarity and more, with an ascending and descending toggle — and a view-mode control for how dense the grid is. Prices in results, and the Price sort, use your active price source. Signed in, a card you own carries an ×N badge.
Online and offline
Plain name searches answer instantly from the on-device catalog in the app, offline included. Three things go online: syntax queries, the Language filter and AI Search, plus the all-language widening above.
The web has no local catalog, so every search there needs a connection.
