How Silvane prices cards
Five price sources, one active at a time — how Silvane prices your collection.
Silvane treats your collection like a portfolio: every printing carries a real price, refreshed daily, per finish (normal, foil, etched) — and your collection's total value is charted over time like a stock.
The pricing model
- Five sources. Silvane tracks five markets for every card: TCGplayer, Star City Games, Card Kingdom, Mana Pool and Cardmarket. Each measures something different — see Price sources.
- One source active at a time. You pick one, and every amount in Silvane — collection value, deck totals, alerts, movers — is that source's number. The choice is saved to your account and shared by the app, the web and MCP.
- No currency conversion. Four sources price in USD; Cardmarket prices in EUR. Amounts always stay in their source's currency — Silvane never converts between the two, and never compares numbers across currencies.
- No fallback. When your source has no price for a card, the card shows no price — Silvane counts it apart as unpriced instead of borrowing a number from another source.
Price history is kept per (card, finish, source) — switching sources never erases a chart, and every market's history keeps accumulating whether or not it's the one you're reading.
Prices are estimates
All values in Silvane are informational estimates — they can lag or differ from any specific store. Confirm with a store or marketplace before you buy, sell or trade. Nothing in Silvane is financial advice.
