The Tray
One staging basket for cards on their way somewhere — shared between the app and the web.
The Tray is a holding area. You add cards to it from anywhere and commit the whole pile to one destination later.
It lives on your account, not on a device: cards you stage on the web are in the app a moment later, and the other way round. It needs an account and is not a Pro feature.
Not the same thing as the scan tray
The scanner has its own tray — the pile a scan session builds up before you save it. That one is local to the phone and never leaves it. This page is about the account-wide Tray behind the header icon. They look alike because they share the same review screen, but they are different piles.
Where to open it
- On the web — the tray icon in the site header, the first of its four controls. It carries a badge with the number of copies waiting.
- In the app — the tray button in the Collection header, or the floating bubble that follows you around while the Tray has something in it. The bubble can be dragged out of the way, and switched off entirely at Settings → Tray bubble.
Ways in
Almost anywhere a card appears, there is a way to stage it.
On the web: the + on a card tile, the Tray button on a card's page and in its drawer, the Tray button in the bulk bar when you are looking at someone else's page, and the Tray chip on a shared sale receipt, which stages every line of the order at once. The drawer's Tray button stages the finish of the row you opened it from: open a foil tile, a foil watch or a foil sale line and it stages a foil, as long as that printing comes in it.
In the app: the tray button on a card's detail page, and Send to tray as a bulk destination from a binder, a list, a deck, a set page, a view or a tracker album.
Copies merge rather than pile up: the same card in the same finish, condition and language adds to the existing row's quantity instead of creating a second one. Rows read the way the rest of Silvane does — a Spanish copy is Cultivar (Cultivate), a reskin goes by what it says — and the search box at the top of the Tray finds a card by any of its names.
Where it goes
Open the Tray and hit Add to…. One destination takes the whole tray:
- a binder or list
- a deck — cards land in the mainboard, and conditions are dropped, because a deck list tracks cards rather than copies
- the Ledger — a sale or a purchase, under its own tab. This tab is Silvane Pro, like the Ledger itself.
A successful commit empties the Tray. If the cards would push you past the Free plan's 3,000-printing inventory limit — which counts across everything you own, not per binder — nothing is written and the upgrade sheet opens instead. Committing into a ledger order has no such limit.
While it is open
The Tray is a working surface, not just a list. You can search within it, sort it (last added, name, mana value, price, color identity), edit a row's quantity, finish, condition or language, remove single rows, and read the running value of everything staged. The footer also offers Copy card list and Export — a plain text file Silvane can import back.
Clear tray empties it without filing anything. There is no undo and no Recently deleted behind the Tray: nothing in it has been committed to anywhere yet.

A bulk add that would overflow the row ceiling fills to the brim and tells you the remainder — "Added 340 to tray · 12 didn't fit" — rather than failing the whole batch.
