Adding cards
Printings, finishes, conditions, languages, quantities and Quick Add.
Every copy is specific
When you add a card, you add a specific printing — the exact set and collector number, with its own art and its own price. Each copy also carries:
- Finish — normal, foil, or etched.
- Condition — Near Mint (NM), Lightly Played (LP), Moderately Played (MP), Heavily Played (HP), or Damaged (DMG).
- Language — any language the printing exists in. Foreign copies show their printed name everywhere — see Card languages.
Quantities are tracked per combination, so "3 NM English normals and 1 LP Japanese foil" is exactly what your binder says.
Ways to add
- From Search: find the card — type its name in any language — pick the printing (the printings picker shows every version with prices), set finish/condition/language and quantity, choose the destination binder.
- From inside a binder or list: + → Search opens the add screen already aimed at it. One tap semantics: tapping a printing's finish/price chip adds the copy instantly — and each chip shows how many of that finish you already own (×N), the same counts Change Print shows; tapping the card image opens the detail page instead. An Owned toggle restricts the results to printings you already own — and offers only the finishes you own — handy when topping up playsets. Language isn't picked here: the copy's language follows the printing you tap (switch it later from the edit screen). The destination is remembered between adds.
- From the Scanner: scans identify the exact printing automatically — see Scanning.
- Quick Add: one tap, straight into the binder, list or deck you preset — see Quick Add below.
- From an import: files, pasted text or URLs — see Importing.
Free plan
The free inventory holds up to 3,000 distinct printings in total. Finishes don't multiply — a normal and a foil of the same printing count as one print toward the limit.
Quick Add
Most collections have a "default drawer" — the binder new cards land in, the deck you're brewing this month. Quick Add wires that drawer to a single tap.
On any card's page, open the + button: Quick Add sits right next to "Add to", showing the name of your current target. Tapping it drops one copy into that target instantly — Near Mint, the printing's default finish, no picker, no confirmation, just a tick and a toast. That's the whole point: going through a stack of thirty pickups becomes thirty taps, not thirty forms.
- Targets can be a binder, a list or a deck (deck copies land in the mainboard).
- Need a different finish, condition, language or quantity? That's what the full Add to flow next to it is for — Quick Add is deliberately opinionated.
Setting — and changing — the target. Two ways:
- Long-press the Quick Add button. The destination picker opens with your current target highlighted; pick any binder, list or deck. Long-press only reconfigures — nothing is added until the next regular tap. (Your very first tap, before any target exists, opens the same picker.)
- From the collection itself. Every binder and list's ⋯ menu has a Quick Add target row (the ⚡ icon) — set it from wherever you're already standing. On the current target the same row clears it.
The target is a per-device preference, so your phone can feed the trade binder while the tablet feeds the collection. If the target is ever deleted, the next tap simply asks you to pick a new one.
One condition for the whole session
When you add from inside a binder or list, the add screen's toolbar carries a Condition pill next to Sort, Filter and Owned. The condition you pick — NM by default — applies to every card you add from that screen, so grading a freshly bought stack is one tap, not one per card. The picker spells out the codes: NM Near Mint · LP Lightly Played · MP Moderately Played · HP Heavily Played · DMG Damaged.
Once a copy is in, everything about it stays editable — see Editing cards.
