Adding cards

Every copy is specific

When you add a card you add a specific printing: the exact set and collector number, with its own art and its own price. Each copy also carries:

• Finish — normal, foil or etched.
• Condition — Near Mint (NM), Lightly Played (LP), Moderately Played (MP), Heavily Played (HP) or Damaged (DMG).
• Language — any language the printing exists in. See Card languages.

Quantities are tracked per combination, so "3 NM English normals and 1 LP Japanese foil" is exactly what your binder says.

In the app

• From Search — find the card, typing its name in any language, pick the printing, set finish, condition, language and quantity, and choose the destination. Add card starts on the last destination you used.
• From inside a binder or list — ＋ → Search opens the add screen already aimed at it. Tapping a printing's finish and price chip adds the copy instantly, and each chip shows how many of that finish you already own as ×N. Tapping the card image opens the detail page instead. An Owned toggle restricts the results to printings you already own, and offers only the finishes you own. Language is not picked here: the copy's language follows the printing you tap. The destination is remembered between adds.
• From the scanner — scans identify the exact printing. See Scanning.
• From an import — files, pasted text or URLs. See Importing. A whole collection from another app: Coming from another app.
• Every card of a precon — Add a precon on an empty Binders tab, or in the welcome's plan, puts whole precons into a binder. See Several at once.
• From an empty collection — the ways in on an empty Binders or Lists tab. See An empty collection.
• From a pack you opened — in the Booster Guide, Have adds a pull to a binder you pick, and Want to the first list with Wishlist on (with none, you pick a list). One copy, Near Mint, in English, in the finish you pulled.
• To the Tray when you know you want the card but not yet where it goes.

One condition for the whole session

The add screen's toolbar carries a Condition pill next to Sort, Filter and Owned. The condition you pick, NM by default, applies to every card you add from that screen. The picker spells out the codes: NM Near Mint · LP Lightly Played · MP Moderately Played · HP Heavily Played · DMG Damaged.

On the web

Two surfaces add cards.

Add Card is the owner's rapid-add drawer, offered on your binders, lists and decks. It slides in beside what you are filling, searches the whole catalog, and lists results as tiles with one tap-to-add chip per finish: tap a chip and one copy of that printing and finish lands in the destination, with a toast and an ×N bump on the chip. The controls follow the destination: a collection grades what it takes in with a Condition chip, a deck files it with a Board chip (Main, Sideboard, Considering). An Owned mode and name suggestions work as they do in search.

Any card's Add button — on its page, in its drawer or from a search result — opens a choice of destination with finish and its owned ×N count, condition and quantity. It starts on the last destination you used, in the app or on the web.

Neither offers a language picker (the copy follows the printing you are looking at) or Change print: switch printings on the card page first, then add.

Choosing the destination

Add to, Move to and Choose destination in a card's Add open the same picker in the app and on the web, with a tab per kind: Binder, List, Decks, and Ledger where an order can take the cards.

• It opens on the tab of the destination you used last. Moving cards leaves out the binder, list or deck they come from.
• A click or tap anywhere on the search field puts the cursor in it.
• The sort button next to the search orders the list: Last used (the default), Recently created or Alphabetical. In the app it opens Sort by, where the Ascending / Descending pill reverses the order. The web lists the same three orders; picking one there sets its default direction.
• The order is saved on your account: Add to and Move to share it, in the app, on the web and on every device. The Ledger tab has no sort; its orders stay newest first.
• Last used puts first the destination you picked most recently: in this picker, in a card's Add, or when saving scans or committing the Tray, in the app or on the web. Destinations never picked come after, newest first.
