Multi-select, what a selection means per finish, and what you can do to one.
Getting into multi-select
In the app — press and hold any card, in a binder, a list, Owned Cards or a view. Or pick Select cards from the ⋯ menu. It works in every layout: compact grid, grid and list.
On the web — Select cards in the collection's More menu, or Select in a single card's own menu, under Copy name, which turns the mode on with that card already picked.
Select all and Deselect all sit in the bar on both. They select everything the current search and filters are showing, not the whole collection, so filter first and then select all.
A selection is per finish
A card you hold as two normals and one foil shows as two tiles, and each tile selects on its own. Select the foil tile and Move, Add or Delete act on the foil copy only. Select both tiles and the whole card goes. Select all follows the same rule, so a copy your filters are hiding is never swept along.
Two places draw a card once whatever its finishes — the app's compact grid and a tracker slot — and there one tap selects every finish of it.
Tags and For Trade belong to the card in that collection, not to a finish. Apply one with only the foil tile selected and it lands on the card, foil and normal alike. Both clients say so when it happens.

Send to tray is not a button on this bar. In the app it is a row of the destination sheet that Move and Add open. On the web the Tray button appears on someone else's binder or list, not on your own. See The Tray.
The batch editor
The batch editor is where quantity, finish and condition change at scale: set quantities to a number or adjust them ±N, turn the selected copies into another finish, move them to a condition (copies merge into the matching bucket), or flag For Trade. A live summary shows exactly what will change before you confirm.
It edits the finishes you selected: with the foil tile picked, a new quantity is the foil count and the normals are untouched.
Select exactly one card and that slot becomes Edit, the single-card edit screen without leaving the grid. Both are app-only.
On a lens
Owned Cards, For Trade, Wants and saved views are lenses over many collections, so a selection there can only be added somewhere. The app's saved views can also send a selection to the tray. Move, Tag and Delete need one real container to act on.
The copies that travel are those of the finishes you selected.
