Silvane 0.9.18 puts a quick view between your lists and the full card.
Tap a card in a binder, a deck, your search results or almost any other list, and it opens large over the list with what you usually came for: its price, how many you own, its tags, and the actions for that list. Swipe to the next card. Tap Details when you want the whole card screen, and swipe there too.
The card screen gets a … menu with Share image and Share link, Owned and decks gain new ways to group, and Storage & Sync shows what is on your phone.
Here is all of it, step by step.
A quick view of every card
On a phone, a tap on a card in a list now opens the card quick view. The card shows large over the dimmed list, with the cards beside it peeking at the sides. The sheet under it holds:
The name. A tap on it copies the name.
The set, the number, the price in your price source and its 7-day change.
Chips for the finish, the language, the copies you own and the condition, plus the card's tags, Proxy and Commander where the list has them.
Share and Add to tray, beside the chips.
The actions of that list.
In the appIn a binder: Details, Edit, Add to, Move, Watch and Delete.
Adrian spent twenty years building software for companies around the world, and still, his favorite day of the week is Thursday, because Thursday is Commander night. Silvane started as the collection tracker he built for his own cards, one Thursday at a time. He writes about the market with the same data that powers the app.
In the appIn a deck: the Proxy mark and the card's tags.
Swipe sideways on the card for the next or previous card, in the order the list shows them. The list behind follows, so when you close the quick view you are on the card you ended on. Drag the sheet down, tap the dimmed list or press Android's back to close it.
Each list offers what makes sense there. A binder or a list has Details, Edit, Add to, Move, Watch and Delete. Owned, views, search, a set page and a Secret Lair drop have Details, Add to and Watch. The Tags chip in a binder, a list or your own deck opens the tag picker for that card.
The quick view works in binders, lists, Owned, views, decks and their Ideas, Value and combos, search, sets, a card's prints, Secret Lair drops, Collection Value, the Ledger, sales, purchases, loans and price alerts. On a tablet a tap still opens the card in the side panel.
Swipe from card to card
Details opens the full card screen, now with a larger card at the top. Swipe sideways there and you move through the same list, card by card. Back returns in one step, however many cards you swiped through, and the quick view is on the card you ended on.
In the appThe card screen, with the larger card.
In the appA swipe brings in the next card of the deck.
The cards around the one on screen load ahead, so the next card arrives with its picture already drawn.
The … menu: alerts, watchlist and sharing
The … button at the top right of the card screen now holds Alerts, Watchlist, Share image and Share link. Alerts and Watchlist moved here from the bell and the + button, and each row says what you have on that printing.
In the appThe … menu on the card screen.
In the appShare image: pick a size, then share or save it.
Share image asks for a size, from Small (146 × 204 px) to Full size (745 × 1040 px), and opens your phone's share sheet with the card's own picture. The share sheet can also save it. Share link sends the printing's page on silvane.app.
Group Owned, and group a deck by Category
Owned now has Group by: Rarity, Set, Color, Type or Tags, the same as a binder. Your choice stays on the phone.
In the appGroup by on Owned.
In the appOwned, grouped by rarity.
Wants and For Trade group by tag too, and a card with two tags shows under both.
A deck's Group by gains Category. It shows the same columns as the Studio, the deck builder on silvane.app: a card's own category, or the one the builder gives it, such as Ramp, Card draw or Removal, in the same order. Categories are edited in the Studio; the app shows them.
In the appCategory in a deck's Group by.
In the appThe deck by category.
Sort by condition and by language
Sort, then More, now ends with Condition (NM first) and Language, in binders, lists, Owned and views.
In the appCondition and Language under More.
Storage & Sync shows what is on your phone
Profile, then Storage & Sync shows the card data and the scanner on your phone, each with its date, version and card count, and the day your prices are from. Check for updates looks for new data. The Collection row shows when your collection last synced and lists any change the server refused.
In the appStorage & Sync.
Download updates can wait for Wi-Fi. Set it to Wi-Fi only and new card data and full scanner downloads wait until you are on Wi-Fi, then download on their own. Prices now arrive with the nightly card data, so the separate price refresh is gone.
The scanner
Nothing enters the tray without a card in view. A card back, a playmat, a book, a phone screen or a deck box no longer adds a card.
A card in a language Scryfall has no printing for keeps its set and number. A Spanish BFZ Forest is saved as BFZ 274 tagged ES, and the scanner says ES copy saved with the English picture.
Different printings scan one after another. Five Forests with five different pictures no longer need the round arrow between them.
Also in this release
Opening a pack no longer waits at the tear. The cards rise about 0.4 seconds after the strip comes off, down from about 3.
Card detail responds faster. A + or − on your copies takes about 20 ms instead of 100 to 200 ms.
Sales and purchases keep each copy's language, and so do backups.
Dragon Shield has its own row in Import from another app, and lists written as 1x Name import.
The Booster Guide card in Search shows its packs at once, even offline or right after installing.
Quitting the app on a Mac no longer shows "Silvane quit unexpectedly".
The full list is in Profile, then Version history, inside the app.
What's new in Silvane 0.9.17: a scanner that recognizes your cards
A new scanner that recognizes your cards by their picture and in their language, Secret Lair drops with pages of their own, and precons to search and sort.
