Ideas
EDHREC, Mana base, Staples, Blindspots and Combos — the deck's second opinions.
Ideas is where a Commander or Brawl deck gets its second opinions. The app's deck bar carries five tabs; the Studio's sources pane carries four of them, calling Mana base Lands and leaving Staples out.
| Tab | What it answers |
|---|---|
| EDHREC | What the community runs with this commander, by category. |
| Mana base | Lands for the commander's colors, by cycle or by popularity. |
| Staples | The most-played cards in those colors, commander aside. |
| Blindspots | What the most-viewed decks run that the popular guides never suggest. |
| Combos | What this deck can already do, what it is one card from doing, and what it could do. |
They share one set of manners. A card already in your deck gets a green ring (with a Remove shortcut) instead of disappearing, so every list doubles as a checklist. A card you own shows an ×N badge, so you can tell a trip to the binder from a shopping list. Add to picks the board a tap lands on — Main, Sideboard or Considering — and Add prefers the printing you already own. Ideas need a commander: set one and the tabs fill in.
EDHREC, Mana base and Staples
The three EDHREC-powered tabs bring its data to your commander: recommended cards with their inclusion and synergy percentages, land suggestions grouped the way EDHREC groups them (or one flat list by popularity), and the color identity's staples. Each section paginates so a long list never stalls the screen, and Open EDHREC jumps to the source page.
Blindspots
Everyone builds the same commander from the same handful of guides, so every list ends up looking alike. Blindspots reads the community's most-viewed decks for your commander across several platforms, sets them against what the popular guides already recommend, and shows you what survives — played by many, suggested by nobody.
- The scan runs when you ask. Tap Find blind spots and it reads in the background, usually under a minute; we email you when it is ready, and the tab shows Scanning… until then. A commander someone already scanned shows that scan at once.
- Consensus / Spice. Consensus keeps the cards several decks agree on — an argument. Spice shows one-off picks — a lead worth a look.
- Three sections, collapsed until you open them: Under the radar (the guides never list them), Underrated (the guides list them, the decks people actually read lean on them far harder) and Mana base (lands, kept apart because a land is rarely a discovery).
- The badge is a share of attention, not a deck count. 34% signal means a third of the community's attention on this commander runs the card, with each deck weighed by how widely it was read. Cross-platform marks a card that showed up on more than one site — two decks on one site can be one author twice; two sites cannot.
- Scan again appears once a result is older than fifteen days.
- A failed scan costs nothing. "We couldn't read the community's decks for this commander. The scan wasn't counted — try again."
Free accounts get one scan a month; Silvane Pro has no limit. A scan someone else already ran never counts against you.
Combos
Combos knows every documented combo in Magic and holds it against your deck. The engine is Silvane's; the data is Commander Spellbook's, mirrored nightly and credited on every screen that shows it.
- In this deck — every piece is already here. You can do these today.
- One card away — add a single card and the combo is live. Combos whose missing card you already own come first, with the line that makes this tab worth having: Demonic Consultation — in your binder.
- Popular with this commander — what the community builds around it.
- More you could play — the wider pool: combos in your colors that the deck does not reach yet and that don't need your commander. Sorted For this commander, Most played, or Closest to done — how many of its cards you don't own anywhere, which turns a browse list into a shopping list you have already half paid for.
Tap a combo for the whole story: its cards with where you stand on each (In the deck, In your binder, Not owned, and an Add for the ones the deck lacks — Add here takes the printing shown, not the one you own, so what lands is what you saw), what it produces, the steps, what has to be true before you start, and anything worth knowing. A requirement like any persist creature is not left abstract: the sheet lists every card in your colors that satisfies it, the ones you have first, and pages through the rest as you scroll. A combo whose requirement no card in your colors can meet is not shown at all — it is not playable in this deck.
The list answers to the deck as it is right now: add a card and the combo it completes moves to In this deck on the spot, while the full answer — combos the old list could not have carried — refreshes a moment behind it.
Commander and Brawl only
Every one of these is matched inside a commander's color identity, so the whole Ideas group is hidden on any other format, and on a deck that is not yours. In the Studio the four tabs appear on Commander and Brawl decks only.
